WELCOME!  WITAMY!

We would like to warmly welcome you all to Poznan University of Medical Sciences. Apart from International Relations Office Staff a team of Mentors is here for you to provide a widely implied help and advice for successfully completion of your studies. We wish you to have a pleasant stay at PUMS and are looking forward to meeting you!

 

About us...

Erasmus Centre is a group functioning within the framework of the Student Council of Poznan University of Medical Sciences. It joins together local Polish students ready to sacrifice their time to enable you taking out the given opportunity of studying abroad  as best as possible. Our mission is to assist you with adjusting to the new environment by introducing to the University’s structures, exploring the interactions among students and presenting the regional traditions. Cooperation with the local units of Erasmus Student Network permits to bring together all incoming young people visiting the city at the same time. Jointly organized excursions will approximate you the city of Poznan as well as the whole country.

 

Who’s your Buddy?

Buddy, also named Mentor, is a kind of agent between you, university authorities and academia. It should be the first person you turn to with any questions, doubts and problems. Buddy is obviously aided by all members of the project, their knowledge and experience.

Every Mentor is subordinated to the Programme Coordinator.

 

What can you expect from the Mentor?

Before arrival:

  • Get in contact through the medium of Internet (e-mail, Facebook, MSN, Skype etc.),
  • Answer questions about the University organization, accommodation, destination city,
  • Help to arrange your arrival.


After arrival:

  • Pick up from airport, train or bus station,
  • Participate in accommodating,
  • Show the closest surroundings: stores, eating-houses, pubs, leisure time activities centres,
  • Acquaint you with the University campus and rules binding there,
  • Diversify your free time, 
  • Improve your knowledge of Polish,
  • BE IN TOUCH WITH YOU THROUGHOUT THE SEMESTER.


Before departure:

  • Arrange your home-coming,
  • Accomplish the University, dormitory and bank formalities etc.

 

Remember, there is no need to have your own Mentor. It’s only up to you!

 

Essentials

All informations about living and studying in a foreign country including: Poland, Poznan, Poznan University of Medical Sciences, curriculum overviews, medical library, recruitment, accommodation, temporary residence permit, health care, public transport, costs of living, cuisine and entertainment you can find in the Student Guide appended to the Welcome-Pack, which everyone of you is going to receive with some university gadgets after arrival.
